He grabbed a nearby plank to help himself out of the liquid, trembling both due to the cold and the anger, when he got illuminated by a spotlight: they had found him.Īs he quietly swam to the river, too exhausted to do anything, his heart lost a beat: there was his wife looking worried at him, and his beloved son behind her, looking at him with the eyes wet of badly hidden tears. ![]() He wished his father could have been there, to assist this glorious moment, but thanks to Cooper, he didn’t even have a place where to cry the death of one of his dearest family members.Īnd then, he felt the frozen embrace of the river’s water dragging him to the bottom, his mind numb, yet still working: not even that water, that was perforating like little nails of ice, could stop that flame of frustration and anger. Fugacious as the wintery snowflakes dissolving in the Sun’s light. He didn’t get them by himself, that’s true, but the important for the skunk was that he had them. He had a brief taste of what “victory” felt like, when he managed to obtain all the Cooper canes. Like a never ending nightmare, like a funny joke of the fate: as his father before him, now it was his turn to lose everything: the dignity, the warm embrace of his loved ones, the hope of a revenge against the historical enemy and redeem the long lost honour. Once again, the story was repeating itself. In the istants before touching with the river kilometers down, he couldn’t avoid thinking of one burning thought: (There is a small pun on my Sly Cooper fancharacters, but it’s nothing big)Īs he was falling down, Le Paradox could feel the wind lacerate his body with its cold blow, passing through his clothes and hairs, like the hint of truth finally taking over his wounded pride. ![]()
